YPF won the appeal in a US court, which the company described as a 'double joy,' as losing the case could have meant the end of its existence. Horacio Marín, the president of YPF, stated this in an interview. He praised the legal team's work and noted that the victory changed everything regarding financing. Marín also refuted statements by former President Cristina Fernández and Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof, who claimed that Argentina won the lawsuit because they were right. He reminded everyone that the Republic had actually lost the case in 2023 and that the team led by President Javier Milei managed to overturn a ruling that is reversed in less than 15% of cases in New York. Marín emphasized that his role as an employee is to generate value for shareholders. Regarding fuel prices, Marín stated that the increases YPF implemented were much smaller than they could have been and that the company did not speculate, aiming to minimize the impact on consumers. He also commented on rumors about the government potentially selling YPF, saying he did not know the executive branch's plans and that they had done a 'tremendous professional job.'
